The talk on 7th September was the first one back in the house and proved to be very popular. It was a full house, and we're not sure if that was due to the attraction of being back in the house, or the popularity of our wonderful speaker, Richard Holdsworth, MBE, Education and Conservation officer at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham.
Once we had got everyone settled, Richard gave us a fine account of the dockyard in Tudor and Stuart times. The talk was very well received, especially as a fair bit of it involved our own Sir Peter Buck, his colleagues, and their various activities, not always what they might be, it seems. Afterwards, there was the opportunity to take a look around the house.
