​I was working at Eastgate house as a custodian one winter period in 2003. Knowing that the house was once a girls’ school and dormitories on the upper level. Well we were all cashed up and I said to a fellow custodian that I would like to have a nose around and get a feeling of the atmosphere upstairs. "Oh she said you will need this key to get in at the top of the stairs". 

​Up I went put the key on the lock turned it but the door would not budge, as if someone or something was stopping it from opening. I gave up went down and explained it must be locked from the inside. Never said my work partner. So we both went up to try again. This time she tried the key it turned as before, and I said yes but now push open the door and she did so and the door opened as simple as anything. I was astounded. I felt I was not being allowed in the room but my lady colleague was. I went home with a chilled feeling and mystified.
