The Committee of the Friends are pleased to announce their AGM will be held at Eastgate House on Wednesday 19th June at 6.30pm. Doors open at 6.00pm.

We plan to have a display of our activities over the past year, along with the costumes that we have made or collected and a raffle to help boost funds.  The Mayor will be there and the evening will close with tea/coffee and cakes.

There will also be an opportunity to see the wedding exhibition throughout the house.

Come along and find out more and how you can get involved in our activities.

The History of Maps by David Carder, Thursday 7 March 2019

16/6/2019

David Carder gave us a wonderful insight into the world of maps and their origins.  From the very earliest versions done in a straight line down a page, to the very regular representation of Scotland, not looking the least like it is (for some strange reason), and the fact that maps were not always drawn with north at the top.
