With the opening of the Eastgate House in July the Friends has an opportunity to work on the various items of costumes that had been either bought, donated or made by volunteers for the dressing-up rail. (Photo: Sue during one of the open evenings, trying on a mop cap for size.) The items are mostly styled for the Victorian era and are suitable for girls and boys from aged 5 to 10 years. They were very popular during the Heritage Weekend.
The next items to be sorted will be the Stuart costumes, some of which will be large enough for adults, particularly if Friends or Volunteers want to wear them during events at the house. The aim is to have them in the house just before the Christmas festivals. If anyone wants to help with costumes, or volunteer to wear one, please contact us. We'd love to hear from you.
