Over 30 people came to our historical talk at the Rochester Community Hub and Library on Wednesday 9 March. It was great to see many of our members there as well as lots of new faces. Local historian, David Carder took us back in time to reveal what life was like for those that lived during the Stuart period and the developments that led to the Industrial Revolution. The Stuart period (1603-1714) was a time of religious and political turmoil with the English Civil War, restoration of the monarchy, and the Great Fire of London. It was also a time of scientific exploration, discovery and invention.
We would like to thank the staff at the Rochester Community Hub and Library for all their support in promoting the talk and for hosting it so well in the library. See the poster for our event.
