Come along and see the artefacts found at Eastgate House during the start of the conservation works and some which were found in the gardens around the end of the 19th century. This display includes the artefacts found at Eastgate House around the start of the building works, including the Victorian letter found beneath the floorboards. You can also see artefacts that were found in the gardens of the house when it was being converted into a museum (starting around 1897) to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
During the Rochester Dickens Festival, the Friends of Eastgate House will be holding an information stall as part of the Victorian Craft Fair at Rochester Community Hub, on 30 and 31 May between 10am and 4pm. Comments are closed.
