Mayors visit Eastgate House

The Mayor of Medway, Cllr David Wildey, together with his Mayoress Mrs Denise Wildey, hosted a number of visiting mayors from around the county and further afield, on a tour of Rochester.

​The tour included visiting the castle, cathedral and guildhall museum, but started with a guided tour of Eastgate House.  Lisa Caleno took them through the various rooms, and explained a little of the history of the house and why each room had a special designation.

Feedback from the mayors was very encouraging.  They were delighted with the house and some said they would make a return visit another time.

The timing of the tour co-incided with a meeting of the Friends’ committee, so our Chairman, Sue Haydock, was on hand to take a photograph of some of the group in the Wedding/Feast Room.
