We had a good turn-out for the AGM, and were privileged to have the mayor, Councillor Habib Tejan (pictured) with us. In his address Councillor Tejan was very supportive of community groups such as ours.

The Committee of the Friends are pleased to announce their AGM will be held at Eastgate House on Wednesday 19th June at 6.30pm. Doors open at 6.00pm.
We plan to have a display of our activities over the past year, along with the costumes that we have made or collected and a raffle to help boost funds. The Mayor will be there and the evening will close with tea/coffee and cakes. There will also be an opportunity to see the wedding exhibition throughout the house. Come along and find out more and how you can get involved in our activities. The internet is a strange invention. It invokes a marmite mentality – you either love it or hate it. Well the internet has proved to be a rich source of items for the house, including our third set of bellows commissioned especially for the house at the turn of the 19th century when it became a museum. This time the location was the Orkneys, north of Scotland. No one know how they got there, but through the internet they are now safely in the hands of the friends and being given a brush up.
